Marc Joseph Rabideau, PT of San Francisco

I grew up in Minnesota and attended the physical therapy program at the University of Minnesota where I graduated with honors in June of 1974. I started working with post-op, surgical, and oncology patients at St. Mary’s Extended Care Rehab Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In 1976 I relocated to San Francisco to become the physical therapy department assistant director at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, California. I was later promoted to department manager, overseeing 25 therapists and PT assistants. The department, in conjunction with physicians and PT assistants, developed orthopedic training seminars with an emphasis in evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries. Working closely with Dr. James Cyriax’s protocols allowed our department to promote and develop a dynamic physical therapy department.

I was later hired in 1982 at Marin General Hospital to promote staff development using musculoskeletal assessments. I later had the privilege of training at The Polinsky Rehab Center in Duluth, Minnesota which was the first hospital based center in the U.S. to train Physical Therapists to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations. I also had the pleasure of working for renowned orthopaedic surgeon, Arthur H. White M.D. at St. Mary's Spine Center in San Francisco, where we worked on starting an industrial rehabilitation program.

In 1990 I opened up my current office. In addition to rehabilitation we perform work related evaluations. I operate and own the Work Ability Testing Services which includes Functional Capacities Assessments and Vocational Evaluations. We have worked with Insurance companies, Department of Labor, Attorneys and Employers to perform these tests.

We have rehabilitative programs for spinal and joint injuries, working with medical doctors, chiropractors and attorneys referrals. We are happy to provide comprehensive reports for all cases. Currently we are accepting liens.
